I Read Words Other People Write

UF, UF, UF. PNR, HR, Sci-Fi, finding a bit more YA that I enjoy. Mystery, crime, detective shit. Have recently figured out I'm not really a contemporary romance gal. I like smut but am not really into erotica. Oh, did I mention UF?

Mine Till Midnight - Lisa Kleypas

***Warning***Possible Spoilers***

I liked Mine til Midnight.  I didn't cling to it like I did Kleypas' Wallflowers series, even though I'm seriously in love with Cam!

It was a quick read, sweet with the requisite hard-headed damsel in distress bit.  Even a little paranormal plot tossed in with this one.  Amelia is no simpering spinster; like any of Kleypas' heroines, she has some bite to go with her bark.  But I just didn't love her like I loved Lillian, Daisy, Evie and Annabelle.

Cam is dashing and exotic and Merripen must have his own story in the works.  I'm more interested in his story than Leo's right now.  But I do hope for a heart-wrenching HEA for Leo too.

All-in-all it's a good read, a hearty recommend to any lovers of historical romance. You just won't find the funny, sometimes maddening, banter from the Wallflowers in this book. I will sign up for the second in the series though! These are nice sweet bites in between some of the darker, more fantasy driven books I'm chewing on lately.
