UF, UF, UF. PNR, HR, Sci-Fi, finding a bit more YA that I enjoy. Mystery, crime, detective shit. Have recently figured out I'm not really a contemporary romance gal. I like smut but am not really into erotica. Oh, did I mention UF?
Four solid stars.
The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie was MAD GOOD!
Laugh out loud funny, blushingly hot smexy scenes, growling Scottish accents and a pretty good mystery to boot!
Beth was a fantastic heroine. Born in the gutter, widow of a vicar, spent years as a paid companion to a wealthy lady, then inheritor of wads o'cash makes her a plain speakin', plain dealin' woman. Although she's not easily accepted into the peerage now that she's got coin, she doesn't give a damn. She's lookin' for fun and adventure and some good old fashioned, sin fun. Good on you, Beth, good on you.
I wish I could go on but I'm tired as all get out. I've been staying up WAY too late because of these damnable books that I can't seem to live without, so I'll just leave you with this. If you are a reader of historical romance, pick this one up. It's funny, it's sad, it's thrilling, it's beautiful and it's sexy. If you don't like historical romance, well, pick it up anyway, maybe you'll get a kick.
Also, Ian is a single-minded man-fest of hot.
